Responsibility Clause Selected Tours & Destinations acts as tour operator only and on condition that the company will not be liable for any injury, loss, damage, accident, delay or any other irregularity that may be occasioned by any defect in any vehicle or other form of conveyance or by error or by default of any company or person engaged in conveying the passengers, carrying out the arrangement of the tour or otherwise in connection therewith. Selected Tours & Destinations is not liable for any failure to make satisfactory or any arrangements or bookings whether such failure is occasioned by any of its agents, principals, sub-contractors or otherwise. Any loss or additional expense due to delays, changes or cancellations of air, road, rail, sea or any other service, strikes, sickness, theft, war, weather or other causes will have to be borne by the passenger. Reservations A non-refundable/non-transferable deposit of 60% of the tour price is payable at the time of making the tour reservation, but not later than 10 weeks prior to departure. The balance of the tour price is payable by six weeks prior to departure. Selected Tours & Destinations reserves the right to cancel any reservations in respect of which the total amount has not been paid by the due dates, in which event the deposit paid will be forfeited. Reservations will only be regarded as confirmed bookings once the deposit has been received by Selected Tours & Destinations. Itinerary changes Selected Tours & Destinations reserves the right to deviate from the itinerary as advertised should this become necessary for any reason whatsoever. Tour price The price quoted is subject to change due to increases in airfares, hotel tariffs and currency fluctuations. Payments Payments must be made by means of electronic bank transfers only. Cheque payments will be accepted subject to prior approval. No cash payments please! Payments to be made to Selected Tours & Destinations. Hotels Selected Tours & Destinations reserves the right to substitute hotels listed in the itineraries with other hotels of a similar of higher category at no additional cost to the passenger. Cancellations In the event of the cancellation of a reservation, to be received in writing, charges will be determined at the time of cancellation. The following indicates the maximum charges that may be imposed: - More than 6 weeks prior to departure: Deposit is forfeited. - Less than 6 weeks, but more than 28 days prior to departure: 70% of the tour price. - Within 28 days of departure: 80% of the tour price. - Within 14 days of departure: 100% of the tour price. Insurance Passengers are strongly advised to take out travel insurance covering personal accident, medical expenses, emergency repatriation and loss of funds through cancellation or curtailment. Selected Tours & Destinations is prepared to arrange such insurance on your behalf. Delays Selected Tours & Destinations does not hold itself responsible for any delays prior to departure or during the course of its tours, brought about by technical difficulties, strikes, weather conditions or any other unforeseen circumstances that are beyond the control of the company. Unused services No refunds will be considered for any unused services, irrespective of whether they form part of the basic package or whether they are in respect of pre-booked optional arrangements. No refunds will be considered in respect of partially unused hotel accommodation, flights or car rentals. Documentation Although Selected Tours & Destinations is prepared to assist with applications for visas and to keep passengers well informed of health requirements, it is the responsibility of each passenger to ensure that they are in possession of the correct documentation prior to departure. Selected Tours & Destinations will therefore not accept responsibility for any consequences of any nature whatsoever arising from a passenger failing to ensure that he/she has complied with the necessary health/ passport/visa/re-entry permit requirements. Passports must be valid for a minimum of six months after the intended return date. Reconfirmation Passengers are reminded of the importance of reconfirming all flight reservations and timings at least 72 hours prior to departure with the airline concerned. Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of the reservation. Selected Tours & Destinations will reconfirm the reservations in respect of the outbound flight. Baggage A baggage allowance of 20 kg is permitted when traveling Economy Class and 30 kg when traveling in Business Class.
